In December 2024, a tragic stampede occurred during the screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre, Hyderabad. The chaos led to the heartbreaking death of a 35-year-old woman and left her eight-year-old son, Sritej, critically injured.

A United Response from the Film Industry

Moved by the tragedy, Allu Aravind, a prominent producer and father of actor Allu Arjun, stepped forward to provide financial aid. A generous package of ₹2 crore was announced to support Sritej’s recovery and future.

Breakdown of Contributions:

  • Allu Arjun: The star of Pushpa 2 personally donated ₹1 crore.

  • Producers Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar: Contributed ₹50 lakh collectively.

  • Director Sukumar: Added another ₹50 lakh to the aid fund.
